Accident Prevention

As a club we are committed to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for the promotion of Hockey for all. Hockey is essentially a non contact sport. Any unnecessary roughness or forms of bullying / foul language or abusive behaviour WILL NOT BE TOLERATED and may result in the player / parent or guardian being excluded from the training session or future events. As a club we ask all members to be courteous. Key to this is the partnership between the club / the player and the parent /or guardian with the following commitments:

The Club
• Promote fair play
• Will put the welfare of each player first
• Treat all young persons equally, with respect and dignity
• Work in an open environment
• DO NOT subject players to bullying, humiliating comments or sarcasm
• Ensure coaches; officials and helpers follow best practice in Child Protection
• Make hockey a fun and enjoyable sport
• Supply a first aid kit to ALL matches and trainings

The Player
• Wear appropriate clothing for the sport of hockey:-
• Tracksuit (NO JEANS) / shin pads / trainers or astros (NO STUDS) / gum shield / protective glove if desired / and for the weather conditions waterproofs / sun cream and hat.
• Behave in a manner which supports
• Fair play
• Respect and dignity for all
• And play for a safe environment which the club seeks to achieve
• Bring to trainings and matches plenty to drink

The Parent / Guardian
• Ensure completion of membership form
• Share your concerns with the club, if you have any
• Behave in a manner which supports:-
• Fair play
• Respect and dignity for all
• The coach and volunteers
• The safe environment the club seeks to achieve
• We ask for parents / guardians to drop off players at the pitch side and not in the car park
