Parents Code of Conduct
- I hereby pledge to provide positive support, care and encouragement for my child participating in the club by following these guidelines.
- I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches and officials at every game, practice or other hockey event.
- I will place the emotional and physical well-being of my child ahead of a personal desire to win.
- I will insist that my child play in a safe and healthy environment.
- I will support coaches and officials working with my child, in order to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all.
- I will demand that the hockey environment for my child be free from drugs, tobacco and alcohol and I will refrain from their use at all hockey matches and practises.
- I will remember that the game is for children and not adults.
- I will do my best to make youth hockey fun for my child.
- I will ask my child to treat other players, coaches, spectators and officials with respect regardless of race, sex, creed or ability.
- I promise to help my child to enjoy hockey by doing whatever I can, such as being a respectable observer, assisting the coaches, officials or providing transportation when needed.
- I will require my child to be coached by a qualified EH coach and that the coach upholds the coaches code of conduct.
- I will read the rules / pitch side conduct expectations for hockey and do what I can to help at hockey functions to implement and enforce them.
- I will endeavour to make sure that my child is suitably dressed for the game of hockey which includes shin pads / gum shield etc. If they are not then I understand that my child can take part in the training sessions but not any matches.
