Previous minutes – actions, matters arising

  • Terry is to meet with St Vincents in regards to dug out on 19th June. We also need to discuss condition of pitch and goals.

Correspondence

  • Pre season Hockey tournament at Southampton - 16th – 17th August
  • Hampshire AGM June 23rd - Nigel, Luke and Terry to attend
  • Hampshire Youth committee meeting – Nigel and Tracy to attend

Treasurer’s Report

  • Account - £11,663
  • Building Society - £1869
  • Shares have dropped to £879.50
  • Astro fees for May have been paid.
  • Islanders money to come in
  • People need to pay on Thursday nights to cover hire of pitch.

Report of the HHWL AGM

  • Umpires can still be level one on division 3, Girls are staying in same league.

Junior section stix day

  • About 20 juniors attended the event. There will be another event later on this year. Photos can be viewed on the GBHC web site.
  • Gosport are holding an ‘Alive and Kicking’ event on Saturday 26th July. We need representatives at the event to advertise the club.
  • Gosport Youth Festival – The club is not attending this year.
  • Summer play scheme – Tracy is getting a team of members together to deliver a taster of hockey at various play schemes within the first few weeks of the summer holidays.
  • Still waiting on club 1st response.

Islanders

  • A good time was had by both teams. Mr Men Avengers got into the cup, got knocked out early Sunday, but a good time was had by all.
  • The first has a good weekend apart from Andi Houston’s red card incident due to him knocking onto an umpire. This incident has now been sorted. Andi has been given a 9 month ban and will help with the u16 training.
  • Luke is already organising a team for next year.

Open Day

  • 6th September. We are hoping for adult help, with the adults staying for a 12o clock session. We are hoping the Mayor can come along to the event about this time when the younger members are awarded their open day prizes.

Fixtures

  • These have not been published and we hope they will be available by the end of June.

ULO Report

Coaching next season.

  • We are still looking for a coach. Possibility of Andi taking the men’s training.

AOB

  • Stix day, 19th July
  • Xmas function combining Adults and Juniors, possibly Masonic halls like the presentation evening – Either Saturday 13th or 20th December
  • AGM Thursday 23rd April
  • presentation evening – 1st or 2nd May 5:30 for 6:00 start. Again hoping to include the Mayor from 6:30 onwards.
  • Letters will need to be sent to Mayor.
  • There will need to be a constitution change to add committee members. This is to be done by next year AGM.
  • Mike is looking into match refreshments at The North Star
  • A company called Oak Leisure is looking at developing Bayhouse School Pitch. This could be a facility we may possibly use in the future
  • Also approached again by Doug Lease of Locks Heath FC. They are looking into using part of Deadalus and developing a ground due to Hook not being successful.
  • Membership starts 1st July
  • We are looking into a newsletter for all members and possibility of introducing membership cards with member number etc
  • Youth Games 21st June – 2 teams have been entered
  • Club looking into refreshments
  • Tracy delivering taster sessions at various play schemes
