Previous minutes – actions, matters arising
- Bay House School have sent a letter to parents, asking them support the plans to build new leisure facilities. Members of the club can comment at Gosport borough website.
- First Aid kits are sorted and have been handed out.
- The club now have the official club first accreditation
Correspondence
- Mixed hockey – A possible idea for next season when other teams become ‘full’ at a weekend. This will allow others opportunity to play.
Treasurer’s Report
- The cost of the hire of the St Vincent pitch has changed. £20 for juniors per hour, £30 with floodlights. £42 for adults and extra £10 with use of floodlights.
- Account - £12,975 – £2200 in subs have come in.
- Building Society – £1885
- Shares have dropped to £730
- Please can captains check players for club membership. This seems to be a big problem with ‘members’ not paying membership. If they do not pay this will cost an extra £3 for games and £2 for training.
- Please see attachment for members who have paid. Persons not on list have not paid membership.
Open Day
- Open day a success. A lot of people were involved and was good to see some seniors supporting the juniors in the morning. The Mayor attended, presenting the club first certificate. A big thank you to all those who helped on the day
Team reports
- Men’s 1st XI – 3-2 loss to Aldershot, 1-0 win against Tadley, yo play Fleet for last friendly.
- Ladies – first friendly the ladies won, lost 2-0 against Isle of Wight, won 6 – 0 against Havent 3rds.
- Men’s 2nds XI – 4-2 win against Trojans, drew 1-1 against P&S.
- 1898s – drew 2-2 against Isle of Wight.
- Juniors - fixtures start this weekend, Mini fest is at Havant, our club Is holding a mini fest on 19th Oct. We need volunteers to umpire.
ULO Report
- No new rules. We are expecting a change of rules from Xmas in regards to keepers.
- A reminder with the blood rule. Anyone who has signs of bleeding, however small, must go off pitch and get it covered with plaster.
- Garfield to be monitored to gain his level one umpire.
Training
- Ralf is happy to take training. Ady is continuing with the ladies training this year. An advert will be sent to HHA to find a coach who can help once a month with training ideas.
- Fitness session on Wednesdays between 7 and 8. This will cost £1
XMAS event
- 20th Dec at the Parish centre. Food will be catered for by Ronni Higgins. Bring your own drinks. £15 for adults and £12 for juniors.
AOB
- A new kit order will go in soon but needs 21 items for order to be placed.
- Coaching courses are available next year. Please see Tracy or Nigel for details
- We are applying for a grant to the council. A ‘shopping list’ of items needs to be thought about. Anything that you think would benefit the club, please tell your captain.
- Membership to be paid – See treasurer report.
- Peter Beard is contacting the club and Gosport Sports Partnership in working on a club/school link programme. Currently there is little response from Gosport and Fareham Sports Partnership. Currently the sports partnership is only talking to Fareham H.C. to cover all schools in the area. The club is discussing this matter with Peter Beard of England Hockey Association.
- England Hockey membership – more people who join the membership, the club get money off at Barrington sports.
