If any team uses an U16 player, this needs notifying to Tracy and Sandra.  A team needs a child protection officer at the pitch on the day of the game.

6.   ULO Report

Club needs a Level 1 umpire who can go forward to Hants umpires

7.   St Vincent

The pitch has been repaired, but needs wearing in. Any more problems please inform Tracy.

8. Red Card

Ben is now back playing after the red card which gave him a ban for a few weeks

9. Coaching

  • There is a level 1 course at Fareham in May, Crawford has applied
  • Level 2 at Aldershot which Gumpy has asked to do.
  • 1st Aid. Most certificates in the club are running out.  The club is hoping to do an ‘in house’ course to cover lots of members in one go.

10. Presentation night

This will be Saturday 21st May.  Tracy will write around to get raffle gifts.  It will be 6-9 but no disco. Everyone can bring food.

Trophies need to be returned by Easter/

11. AGM

  • Tuesday 10th May @ St Vincent. 7pm for 7:30
  • Fundraising – Mars bars – Tracy has applied
  • Barclays are doing funding
  • Also received £250 from Hampshire county council
  • Club 1st – Folder is back.

As a club we have achieved “Club 1st” status again, for the second time! A lot of work has gone into regaining accreditation. So a big thank you Sandra Vidler, Tessa Adams, Sander Meyson and Joni Duffus, who all helped out Tracy (and thank you Tracy!).

AGM

Come and have your say at the AGM on Tuesday 10th May. It will be held at St Vincent College in the Rifle Room at 7.15 for 7.30 start.

First Aid Courses

This year the club is looking to organise a first aid course. For us to hold a course within the club we need to find 24 people. So far I have 7.  With the new “Club 1st” rules every team must now have 2 qualified first aiders at every match, and we would like to have 3 plus at training sessions. If you would like to attend the course please let Paul Webb know (Club First Aid Co-ordinator). More information to follow.

Foundation Umpire Award

The club is looking to run this course in May and as this will be the end of the season we can run it on a Saturday. The course is open to everyone within the club from the age of 13. This is the first step of umpiring or if you wish to “brush up” on the rules then please let James Webb know.

LOR1 Umpires Required

Hampshire Hockey Umpires Association are experiencing a lack of qualified umpires especially ladies and also as a club we require more “LOR 1” Umpires. If you feel you can help or would like more information then please contact James Webb.

Previous minutes – actions, matters arising

Kit – Mark cannot do the club kit.  The club needs someone who can order the kit.  This only really needs to be done twice a year as there is usually a minimum order that is required.  This could be ready for the start of the season and at Christmas.

Correspondence

Club 1st

Meeting was in December and the file was submitted and questions answered by Margaret Vider, Tracy and Gaynor

ULO Report

James has stepped in and the club would like to thank him for helping otherwise the club could have been fined.  The new kit rule has not come into effect as yet, but all club members need to wear the correct kit/colours for their matches.

The Men’s 1st team need to be careful in regards to umpires.  There is a £300 fine hovering over us and we could lose out on umpires.  If problems keep persisting with disagreements with umpires, players will be moved to other teams within the club.

Neil and Georgia need to be assessed.  Date needs to be organised for Neil to umpire a 98s game.

Richard Wood wants clubs to put forward another Level 1 umpire to be appointed for matches.

Umpires now have to wear the correct uniform (New rule).

The pitch condition is deteriorating.  An e mail was sent to James in regards to the pitch.  The club are in contact with St Vincent in getting the pitch repaired again.

The club will need a female umpire within the next 2 years.

St Vincent

As mentioned the club is in contact with Colin Farmery in regards to fixing the pitch, otherwise we could have issues in completing future fixtures.

Fundraising

Tracy managed to get £580 from the ‘you decide’ event at Gosport.  The club will get the full amount once we have run the skills day for local schools.  The club might get £250 through Hampshire.  If people want new equipment for their section of the club, teams need to think of fundraising ideas either as a club or a team.

Coaching / First Aid / Foundation & Umpiring Courses

  • There is a level 1 course coming up.
  • There is a 1st aid course in Feb.  The club are looking into getting one done as a club so more players can be 1st aid trained.  If you are interested please let Tracy know.
  • Once James has his CRB he can run a foundation umpire course for players in the club

Presentation night

This will be Saturday 21st May.  There will be no disco, just the presentation.  All to bring food.  Please can players start handing back trophies ready for engraving. Back by 1st April.

AOB

  • AGM – 10th May
  • Gumpy was wanting lower half of the kit.  As mentioned earlier, teams need to try and raise money to help pay for equipment.
