Gosport Mens 1sts (2 – 1) Chichester Mens 4ths
Recently despite our lack on points we have not been doing too badly (we’ve had a few issues with scoring goals, and have let the umpires get to us a little too much). So todays game was our chance to get our first win, the game was a bottom of the table clash (and lived up to it), and going on our previous performances should win.
The game started off slowly, and we failed to perform as we have in the previous weeks. We found ourselves playing the Chichester game, rather than forcing our game on Chichester. No one really looked like scoring, until a poor clearance from a short corner allowed Chichester to score.
The rest of the first half was the same as the that, we failed to impose ourselves. We managed to get a lucky break with the last play of the half, our short corner was deflected in (although Ben claims that what had been planned).
We picked our game up in the second half, and looked more likely to score (even if we failed to do so). Mid-way through the half Dan scored a cracker of a goal (from the top of the D into the top right corner). That is how the game ended.
Our first win, which is great, even if we dragged the game out.
