We came to this game feeling a little more confident, after our first win last week. This week we had Paul playing in goal (in his first game of the 1st team) as Tommo was injured in last weeks game, Tommo came along to watch the game with a photo of his ankle as proof!
We started off a bit slowly, and Southampton Uni quickyl started to press their own game, luckily this did not reasult in many shots on the goal. Unfortunatly fairly early on, one of their strikers broke through and put a goal in the net. After the goal we sorted ourselves out and held our own for the rest of the half, a few wasted chances occured.
The second half started well, and we had a good 20 minute spell, but I think the lack of goals started to get to us and we leaked another goal. With about 5 minutes to go we managed to get a short corner (great, we’d actually been practising these at training), which went in and looked like a pretty good routine. Even better was that Stu scored the goal, and he’d not been involved in the practise.
This spurred us on for the last 5 minutes of the game, but with no more luck. A loss, but I don’t think we actually played to badly.
